The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking an experienced professional to fill the key role of Executive Assistant.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and executive support to the Executive Team and broader Senior Leadership Team. This role requires strong organization, discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a quick-paced environment.

What We Do
There has never been a more exciting time to be at WAHA. We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees, physicians, and partners in care. As a health authority, you will work in a unique setting where you have the opportunity to care for patients in all phases of their life journey, in all areas of their health experience. From Primary, Acute, and Mental Health, Dental, Specialty Clinics, Population Health and the WAHA Paramedic Service, the opportunities for growth are boundless. We provide community-based programming in all six of our communities, have six paramedic bases, three hospitals,
four emergency departments, one community health centre and a total of 72 beds. Our guiding goal is to be a centre of excellence in Indigenous and remote healthcare. Who You Are
- Knowledge of corporate and administrative practices, procedures, and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft, edit, and interpret correspondence and executive-level materials.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the abilities to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior leaders and diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and continuously changing setting.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and/or HRIS is preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive administrative and executive support for the Executive and Senior Leadership Team including calendar management, correspondence, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and expense reconciliation.
- Coordinate meetings and ensure the team is prepared with appropriate agendas, briefing materials, presentations, and other supporting documentation.
- Review and prioritize incoming requests and correspondence, track action items and deadlines, and ensure appropriate follow-up and completion.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with WAHA leadership and staff, government representatives, community leadership, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team, and other Executive Assistants, providing coordination, project support, and coverage as required while maintaining a high-level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Travel within the service region will be required.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education/training in a business or related health discipline
- Diploma or a willingness to obtain
- Experience providing senior-level administrative or executive support
- Valid Ontario G or G2 Driver’s License
- Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset

Salary: $71,584.50 - $81,549.00
