SURVEY ASSISTANT

GeoTerra Surveys is a well-established professional geomatics services firm located in NS and PEI.

We are looking for a Survey Assistant who is skilled in using a chainsaw, is interested in surveying, is physically fit and enjoys working outdoors year-round.

GeoTerra provides a full spectrum of legal, topographic, construction, drone/UAV mapping and bathymetric surveying services including land development and consulting in both rural and urban settings. Our team provides in-person mentorship and skill development. This position may lead to career advancement for the right individual.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Working with a survey technician or land surveyor

· Brushing out wooded boundary lines with a chainsaw

· Assisting with legal, topographic, construction, drone/UAV mapping and bathymetric surveys

· Working in both urban and rural settings, including construction sites, in all types of weather

· Ensuring survey equipment and company vehicles are maintained and organized

· Adhering to company safety policies





Requirements and Qualifications:

· Diploma from a recognized surveying or Geomatics program would be considered an asset

· Effective verbal and written communication (English) skills

· Ability to think critically, be well organized with attention to detail

· Experience with survey equipment would be considered an asset

· mechanical and technical competence would be considered an asset

· Must have a valid Driver’s license
