About the Role

Valcom Antennas is seeking a Fiberglass Antenna Finisher to join our manufacturing team in Guelph, Ontario. This hands-on role is responsible for the cosmetic finishing, assembly, and preparation of fiberglass antennas and antenna bases, ensuring products meet Valcom's high standards for quality, appearance, and performance before entering the paint process.

What You'll Be Responsible For

- Performing cosmetic finishing and repairs on fiberglass antennas and antenna bases using body filler and finishing compounds
- Preparing fiberglass antennas and bases for painting
- Sanding, shaping, and smoothing antenna surfaces using hand and power tools
- Applying fiberglass cloth and resin to antenna bases and components as required
- Drilling mounting holes using a drill press
- Installing ferrules, threaded rods, and other antenna components
- Soldering copper wire to ferrules and completing finishing work following soldering
- Joining antenna sections and assemblies
- Using measuring instruments, including vernier calipers, to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Reading and following basic mechanical drawings and work instructions
- Working closely with production, quality, and management teams to meet quality and production goals
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure work environment in accordance with company standards

What We're Looking For

- Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to perform precision cosmetic finishing work with strong attention to detail
- Ability to solder and complete finishing work following assembly
- Experience using measuring instruments,



including vernier calipers and other basic measuring tools
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment, including a multimeter
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Ability to follow established procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production, quality, and management teams to meet company goals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with fiberglass, composites, body fillers, resins, or similar finishing materials
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, finishing, or production environment

Work Schedule & Environment

- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (may be adjusted based on business needs)
- Breaks:
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Two paid 15-minute breaks
- Clean, air-conditioned manufacturing facility
- Working with fiberglass materials, cloth, resins, and finishing compounds
- Reliable transportation required
