Position: Temporary / Part time – September 2026
Potential for additional shifts following September

Your Way Support Services is looking for a compassionate, reliable Support Worker to provide one-to-one support to a teenage boy in his home in West Edmonton while his regular staff member is on leave for the month of September.

The individual uses a wheelchair and requires total assistance with his daily care needs, including personal care and G-tube feeding. Experience with G-tube care is considered an asset but is not required, as training will be provided.

He enjoys listening to music, being read to, and getting out for walks in his wheelchair. We are looking for someone who is patient, attentive, dependable, and comfortable providing hands-on support.

Schedule

- Monday to Wednesday: 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm
- Thursday: 12:30 pm – 8:30 pm
- Additional Saturday shifts may also be available - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Priority will be given to applicants who are available for the weekday schedule.

Responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one, person-centred support
- Assist with all aspects of personal and daily care
- Provide G-tube feeding and care following training and established procedures




- Support comfortable positioning and mobility using his wheelchair
- Engage in activities he enjoys, including reading, music, and walks in the community
- Follow established care plans and routines
- Complete required daily documentation
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment

Requirements

- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months, or willingness to obtain one
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care and total assistance
- Reliable and able to commit to the September schedule
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is an asset
- G-tube experience is an asset, but training will be provided
- First Aid/CPR
- A vehicle is not required for this position

Although this position is initially for the month of September, there may be opportunities for ongoing or additional shifts supporting other individuals within Your Way Support Services.
