WE’RE HIRING: JUNIOR MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER

Hello everyone,

Bayfield Mortgage Professionals Ltd. is growing, and we are looking for a full-time Junior Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at our head office in Langley, BC.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mortgage, banking, lending, or related experience who wants to build a long-term career in mortgage underwriting. Previous underwriting experience would be an asset, but it is not required.

The successful candidate will work closely with and be mentored by one of our experienced Senior Underwriters, gaining hands-on experience throughout the mortgage underwriting process.

ABOUT BAYFIELD

Bayfield Mortgage Professionals Ltd. is a well-established mortgage brokerage that has been serving the mortgage industry since 1982. We have managed Mortgage Investment Corporations since the late 1980s and currently administer mortgages throughout British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist the Senior Underwriter with reviewing and processing mortgage applications
- Prepare, organize, and maintain mortgage files and supporting documentation
- Follow up with brokers regarding outstanding or missing information
- Provide timely updates and professional service to brokers and clients
- Ensure files and documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant
- Learn and apply Bayfield’s underwriting policies, procedures, and lending guidelines
- Provide general administrative support to the underwriting team




- Work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team environment

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate:

- Holds a Mortgage Agent/Broker licence or is willing and eligible to obtain one
- Has previous mortgage, banking, lending, or related industry experience
- Is eager to learn and develop a career in mortgage underwriting
- Is comfortable working under the guidance of a Senior Underwriter
- Takes direction well and is confident asking questions when clarification is needed
- Has excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Can prioritize effectively in a rapid-paced environment
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Is customer-focused and committed to providing exceptional service
- Brings a positive, qualified, and team-oriented attitude

POSITION DETAILS

- Full-time, office-based position in Langley, BC
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Paid bi-weekly
- Extended Health, Dental and Vision benefits after three months
- Two weeks of vacation
