Psychotherapy Works is a growing private practice in Ajax dedicated to providing evidence-based, compassionate, and neurodiversity-affirming mental health care. We are seeking a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) who is passionate about helping clients create meaningful change while building a rewarding and sustainable private practice.

Whether you have an established caseload or are looking to grow one, we provide the administrative and clinical support so you can focus on what you do best—therapy.

About the Role

As an Associate Psychotherapist, you will provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and/or families, depending on your areas of competence and interest.

This position offers flexibility to create a schedule that fits your lifestyle while enjoying the benefits of working within a supportive, collaborative private practice.

Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy services.
- Complete timely and thorough clinical documentation in accordance with CRPO standards.
- Develop collaborative treatment plans with clients.
- Maintain ethical and professional standards of practice.
- Participate in peer consultation and team meetings (optional but encouraged).
- Build strong therapeutic relationships while working within your scope of competence.
- Contribute to a warm, inclusive, and collaborative clinic culture.

Qualifications required

- Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
- Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, Social Work, or a related mental health discipline is preferred but not required. Candidates with equivalent education,



training, and substantial clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
- Professional liability insurance.
- Excellent clinical documentation and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration.
- Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and client-centered care.

Assets

- Experience working with ADHD, autism, executive functioning, anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, burnout, or relationship concerns.
- Training in one or more evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, CPT, EFT, Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic therapies, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), or other evidence-based approaches. Additional training or experience supporting autistic individuals and people with ADHD—including behavioural, executive functioning, or parent-mediated interventions—is considered a strong asset.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, couples, and/or families.
- Evening and weekend availability (not mandatory)
- Bilingual or multilingual clinicians are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

Compensation is based on a competitive independent contractor revenue split.

Our current client session fee is $150 per clinical hour, with earning potential of approximately $75 - $90 per completed session, depending on experience and revenue split. As the practice grows and client fees increase, clinician compensation will increase proportionally.
