Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused, and positive Bus Driver to join our team for the upcoming school and hockey season.

This position is about more than simply getting students from one place to another. Our Academy Bus Drivers are an key part of the day-to-day experience of our student athletes, providing safe and reliable transportation while becoming a familiar and trusted part of their season.

The successful candidate will transport student athletes and staff between school, practices, games, training facilities, and other scheduled activities. The role also includes the opportunity to travel with the team on multi-day road trips throughout the season.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in professional driving, communicates well, can adapt when schedules change, and genuinely enjoys being part of a positive environment for young athletes.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely transport student athletes and staff to and from school, practices, games, training sessions, and other scheduled activities.
- Operate assigned vehicles safely and professionally while complying with traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and report mechanical concerns, defects, or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment aboard the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, coaches, management, and other team members regarding schedules, transportation requirements, and concerns.
- Adapt professionally to schedule changes, delays, road conditions, and other situations that may arise throughout the day or while travelling with the team.




- Complete required driver logs, inspection reports, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and on time.
- Represent the Academy and transportation provider professionally while interacting with students, families, schools, teams, and the public.
- Participate in team road trips that may require travel away from home for approximately 3–6 days at a time.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Valid BC Class 2 Driver's Licence. Air brake endorsement is not required.
- Explicit Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector screening.
- Clean ICBC "N" Driver's Abstract, with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Strong commitment to safe and responsible driving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with student athletes, parents, school staff, coaches, and colleagues.
- Positive, patient, and professional attitude when working with young passengers.
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing schedules and circumstances.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to conduct vehicle inspections and identify or troubleshoot minor issues.
- Ability to complete reports, logs, inspections, and other required documentation accurately.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.




- Experience working with student athletes, youth sports, schools, or similar environments is considered an asset.
- Must be comfortable travelling with the team for multi-day road trips.

Position Details

- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Seasonal contract: September through May
- Hours are expected to reduce during April and May following the conclusion of the hockey season.
- Position includes regular transportation for school, practices, games, and other Academy activities.
- Must have the flexibility to participate in 3–6 day team road trips when scheduled.
- Schedule and hours will vary based on the Academy's school, practice, game, and travel schedules.
