This is not a sit-down job — Fergie’s is your fitness replacement. Our café is spread across multiple levels, which means your shift is spent moving: climbing stairs, carrying plates, navigating the property, running food, clearing tables, and constantly staying on the go. If you enjoy hiking, climbing, mountain biking, or simply being active, you’ll probably love this role.

As a Food Expeditor / Runner, you’ll be the link between our kitchen and guests, making sure food leaves the pass quickly, accurately and looking its best. You’ll work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to keep service flowing, especially when we’re busy.

You should be comfortable carrying many plates at a time, moving quickly and safely through a busy environment, and spending your entire shift on your feet. It’s physically demanding, but that’s part of what makes working at Fergie’s unique — you can finish your shift knowing you’ve had your workout for the day.

No previous restaurant experience is necessarily required. We’re looking for people who are energetic, reliable, physically capable, willing to learn, and genuinely enjoy working as part of a team.

What You'll Do

- Act as the communication link between the kitchen and front-of-house team.
- Run food from the kitchen to guests quickly, safely and accurately.
- Carry and deliver multiple plates at a time while maintaining presentation standards.
- Check dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure they are correct, complete and presented properly.
- Communicate with the kitchen and servers about missing items, modifications, allergies and special requests.
- Prioritize and coordinate food during busy service periods to keep tickets moving.
- Learn our menu and develop a solid understanding of ingredients and allergens.
- Assist with portioning, garnishing and final presentation when required.




- Transparent and reset tables efficiently to keep the restaurant flowing.
- Assist servers and kitchen staff wherever needed during busy periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout service.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling procedures.
- Navigate stairs, multiple levels and outdoor areas safely while carrying food and equipment.
- Help create a smooth, welcoming experience for every guest.

What We're Looking For

- Energy and a willingness to move! This is an active, physically demanding position.
- Ability to remain on your feet and moving for the majority of your shift.
- Comfortable carrying multiple plates and navigating stairs and different levels of the property.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm during a busy service.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail — especially when it comes to orders, allergens and presentation.
- Willingness to learn our menu, food safety procedures and service standards.
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, hotel or barista experience is an asset, but not essential.
- Food safety and allergen training will be provided as required.
