JOB DESCRIPTION
The Frying Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the frying equipment to produce consistent, safe, and high-quality products in accordance with established recipes, Work Instructions (WI), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety requirements, and production standards.
The Frying Operator is expected to consistently:
- Produce safe, high-quality fried products according to established recipes and Work Instructions.
- Follow all GMP, food safety, sanitation, and health and safety requirements.
- Accurately complete required production and temperature records.
- Operate and maintain frying equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate promptly and effectively with the Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Mixing Operators, and Proofing Operators.
- Immediately report mistakes, equipment concerns, product deviations, and unsafe conditions.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and instructions.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Follow Frying Work Instructions
- Follow all Work Instructions for frying, including the required frying time for each type of donut or product.
- Ensure products are fried consistently according to established quality and production standards.
- Follow all recipe and process requirements without unauthorized changes.
Food Safety and GMP Compliance
- Follow all GMP policies and food safety requirements at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
- Prevent contamination by following proper product handling, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
- Immediately report any food safety concern to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
Health and Safety
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe operating procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Never operate equipment in an unsafe manner or bypass safety procedures.
Communication and Teamwork
- Communicate and coordinate production activities with Mixing and Proofing Operators to maintain a smooth and effective production process.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with the Production Supervisor.
- Immediately inform the Production Supervisor of any mistakes, product issues, equipment problems, delays, or deviations from established procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing, bakery, or production environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to follow recipes, Work Instructions, production procedures, and safety requirements accurately.
- Ability to operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding temperature, frying time, product quality, and food safety.
- Ability to recognize and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and product deviations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production workplace.
- Understanding of GMP and food safety principles is an asset.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a production environment.
- Ability to safely handle production trays, racks, and equipment.
- Ability to work in a warm production environment and around frying equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow all workplace safety requirements.
Shift:
Nights: 11:00pm - 7:00am
Pay: $18.00-$18.50 per hour
