Duties

- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and arranging dental supplies for procedures
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by handing instruments and managing patient comfort
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools when necessary
- Manage patient records using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Provide post-treatment instructions to patients and answer their questions with clarity and professionalism
- Support front desk staff by handling patient check-ins, scheduling appointments, and managing dental receptionist duties
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to strict infection control protocols




- Assist with orthodontic procedures and pediatric dentistry cases to ensure specialized patient needs are met effectively

Experience

- Prior experience in dental assisting or related healthcare support roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for new entrants
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic enhances efficiency in managing patient data
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry ensures clear communication within the team
- Experience working with orthodontics or pediatric patients is a plus, demonstrating versatility in supporting diverse dental specialties
- Strong understanding of dental assisting techniques, sterilization procedures, and infection control standards is essential
- Ability to operate CAD tools for digital imaging or treatment planning is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills combined with a positive attitude are key to thriving in this role
