Duties

- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Demonstrate various dance techniques and styles with enthusiasm and clarity
- Create a fun, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and self-expression
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and confidence
- Organize and supervise warm-up exercises, choreography practice, and performances
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and maintain a clean, organized studio space
- Support students’ social development by fostering teamwork, respect, and encouragement

Skills

- A background in, and proven experience in,



teaching dance
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage children effectively
- Excellent communication skills to clearly demonstrate techniques and provide feedback
- Experience working with children and teens
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs and skill levels
- Knowledge of various dance styles including but not limited to ballet, jazz, and lyrical or contemporary
- Enthusiasm for fostering creativity, confidence, and physical well-being through dance
- Ability to work in a team setting

Candidates must be available to work from September to June (the full 2026/2027 season), and all classes for this position run on Wednesday evenings. If hired, the instructor will be required to have an up-to-date Criminal Record Check, with Vulnerable Sector Screening. CPR-C & First Aid certification considered an asset.

Interested candidates should include a resume with references. Dance certifications, videos of teaching or past choreography, and a desire to stay on long term, are all considered an asset.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
