As the the Manager, Systems Engineering, you will support the design, development, integration, and testing of the Canadian Coast Guard’s future fleet of six Program Icebreakers. This role will manage a team of engineers and technical specialists. More specifically you will:

- Manage a team of engineers and technical specialists.

- Ensure compliance with and support the development of the Corporate Management System (CMS).

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards, including the rules and regulations of classification societies, IMO, and Transport Canada.

- Liaise directly with vendors to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

- Engage with all technical disciplines to ensure effective management of technical changes.

- Foster and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and act as a technical liaison between internal and external stakeholders.

- Provide performance reports as required by senior management.

- Monitor and proactively manage overall project risks.

- Monitor and manage subcontractors and associated risks.

- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements within the scope of responsibility.

- Participate in risk reviews and engineering estimates.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering,



Electrical Engineering or Naval architecture).

- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the field of marine engineering or ship design.

- Minimum of five (5) years’ leadership experience.

- Experience working with the rules and regulations of classification societies and flag states.

- Experience working in a shipyard is considered an asset.

- Solid organizational skills, with the ability to complete multiple, complex, detail-oriented tasks and projects on time.

- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

- Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken). Fluency in English is required for this position, as you will interact with English-speaking suppliers, stakeholders or clients.
