Your role
As a Buyer, you will play a central role in the success of our high-end residential projects. Acting as a key liaison between planning, suppliers, production teams, and job sites, you will ensure a seamless supply chain, adherence to project timelines, and the compliance of all purchased products and services.
Your responsibilities will include :
Purchasing Planning and Procurement
- Plan purchases according to project schedules and specific requirements
- Analyze purchase requests and determine the most effective procurement strategies
- Request pricing for standard and specialized purchases
- Place orders with suppliers and ensure the accuracy of all information provided
- Anticipate risks related to lead times, material availability, and price fluctuations
Supplier and Subcontractor Management
- Develop, qualify, and maintain a reliable network of suppliers and subcontractors
- Communicate with sales representatives and negotiate pricing, lead times, and purchasing terms
- Evaluate suppliers based on their performance, reliability, and ability to meet our quality standards
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier and subcontractor database
- Periodically review sourcing options based on price changes, delivery timelines, and operational requirements
Estimating and Project Support
- Support the estimating team by requesting quotations from suppliers
- Collect, analyze, and organize quotations to ensure structured and efficient follow-up
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, and production teams
- Ensure that all ordered materials, products, and services comply with project drawings, specifications, and specific requirements
Order Tracking and Logistics Coordination
- Monitor outstanding orders and follow up with suppliers as required
- Review inventory levels and adjust procurement strategies accordingly
- Coordinate deliveries to the workshop and job sites while accounting for project schedules and constraints
- Prevent delays, quickly identify logistical issues, and implement appropriate solutions
- Ensure that transportation, import, and export documentation complies with applicable requirements, when necessary
Quality Control, Compliance, and Documentation
- Manage internal and external non-conformities and all related documentation
- Work with suppliers to promptly resolve quality discrepancies, order errors, and delivery issues
- Review and submit invoices in accordance with established billing procedures
- Update departmental tracking tools and key performance indicators
- Clearly communicate the status of purchasing activities to the appropriate stakeholders
Your contribution will have a direct impact on the quality of our work, our ability to meet project timelines, and the seamless execution of our large-scale projects.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a rigorous, proactive,
and highly organized professional who understands that every purchasing decision directly contributes to the quality of the finished product.
Requirements:
- Experience in cabinetmaking, purchasing management, procurement, logistics, or a related field
- Relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or logistics, ideally within the woodworking or architectural millwork industry
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret 2D technical drawings
- Good knowledge of materials, products, and components used in architectural millwork—considered a strong asset
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills
- Ability to anticipate risks and effectively resolve procurement and logistics challenges
- Strong attention to detail, autonomy, organizational skills, and an excellent ability to manage priorities
- Proficiency with computer applications and purchasing or inventory management software
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of transportation, import, and export standards and regulations—considered an asset
