We’re opening DePaul Hall Enhanced Care in Bedford, Nova Scotia, in October 2026, and we’re searching for an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join our opening team.

What You’ll Do

- Assessing, planning, evaluating, documenting and directing residents’ needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences and team members





- Providing leadership to health services staff and overseeing provision of quality health services respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health services.

- Provides leadership and oversight to LPN and CCA activities to ensure compliance to policies, procedures, and applicable legislation

- Ensures new team members are orientated and trained on all departmental standards.

- Monitors and manages performance and provides coaching

- Completes performance and development discussions for team members.

- In consultation with HRBP and supervisor, ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to company policy

- Ensure that all work performed is conducted in a safe manner in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety procedures.

- Ensures that resident admissions/re-admissions are completed within the timeframe and according to practice

- Serves as a resource person for other nursing staff in identifying and solving nursing or resident care problems

- Delegates clinical responsibilities to qualified staff in accordance with policy and standards of practice

- Represents the Home at appropriate community and professional meetings; attend workshops, in-service sessions and other scheduled meeting as authorized by the Site Manager/Regional Manager/General Manager

- Endorses and implements best practice guidelines, policies and procedures within the facility

- Assesses and reassesses resident health status and communicates resident care needs and changes in resident status to key resident contacts

- Ensure resident plan of care is established and implemented in accordance with policy and that the care plan is developed and implemented in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary care team and meets the resident’s holistic needs.





- Encourages active participation by residents in therapy programs and recreational activities.

- Develops robust relationships with residents, families, substitute decision makers, physicians, other care providers and the rest of the care team

- Ensures that regular ongoing communications with residents and families takes place providing updates as part of the regular assessment process.

- Working with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance to policies and procedures

- Assisting with the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans.

- Administering and recording prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice

- Applying dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy.

- Assisting with supervision and evaluation of job performance of care staff

- Additional duties as assigned/required

What You Bring

- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and are currently registered with the Provincial Association of Registered Nurses

- Minimum 2 years' experience in field of nursing.

- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills

- Specialized courses such as: Foot Care, Palliative Care and Venipuncture considered an asset.

- Course completion of Dementia: Understanding the Journey considered an asset.

- Completion of Back in Form Lift & Transfer Program considered an asset.

- Availability to work a schedule of flexible hours and all shifts inclusive of days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

- Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in other languages considered an asset

- Ability to provide a valid CPR & Emergency First Aid Certificate is required

- Successful candidates will be required to obtain a?clear Criminal Record Check, and?where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment
