COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER 1 for LAUDERDALE

(1 part-time, permanent position available)

About the position:

McMan’s Disability Services Program is seeking to recruit a dedicated CRW 1 to support two (2) male individuals with developmental disabilities and complex behaviours to enrich their quality of life in their homes and communities.

Hours: Monday to Friday 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Total of 37.5 awake hours

Location: Edmonton, Alberta.

What you’ll do:

· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.

· Acting as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.

· Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.

· Completion of daily documentation.

· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.

· Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.

· Participate in on-going program development.

What you bring:

· Completion of a High School Diploma.

· Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting or obtain registration within three months of hire.

· Six (6) months experience working within the Human Services field.

· Equivalencies may be considered.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Security Clearance Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months).

· Emergency First Aid-Level A CPR + AED.

· 3-year valid Class 5 Drivers License, current drivers abstract, reliable vehicle, and $2 million liability auto insurance are required

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Computer/Word processing skills.

· Ability to implement approved restrictive practices.

· Experience working with Autism and Seizures is an asset.





· Ability to assist with personal care.
