The Governance Coordinator will work closely with the founder to deliver high-quality governance services to non-profit organizations with consistent, repeatable processes.

During the first six months, the role will focus primarily on meeting coordination, board materials, client communications, document organization, and learning GovDesk’s systems. Additional responsibilities may be introduced over time based on your strengths and interests.

Key Responsibilities

- Schedule board and committee meetings and coordinate calendars, invitations, RSVPs, and meeting logistics
- Draft agendas, prepare board packages, and format professional board and client materials
- Track deadlines, action items, project plans, and governance calendars
- Coordinate AGM planning activities and related member communications
- Organize governance documents, records, client workspaces, and resource libraries
- Draft explicit emails, announcements, newsletters, and other communications
- Create surveys, online forms, slide decks, templates, and workbooks
- Help document and improve standard operating procedures
- Use tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, Airtable, and ChatGPT to complete and improve work
- Support the development and testing of AI-enabled workflows and identify appropriate opportunities to automate routine tasks

and follow tasks through to completion
- Manage multiple projects and priorities without losing track of details
- Be interested in nonprofits, associations, governance, business administration, or mission-driven work
- Be excited to grow with a small business and help improve how services are delivered

Qualifications
A degree or diploma in business administration, communications, nonprofit management, public administration, or a similar field would be ideal. Equivalent education or relevant experience will also be considered.

This role may be especially well suited to a recent business administration graduate, an experienced administrative coordinator, an executive assistant interested in governance, or someone with nonprofit or association experience who wants to develop specialized expertise.

Experience with Google Workspace, Canva, Airtable, ChatGPT, or similar tools is an asset. Governance experience is not required.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
