Landscape Crew Leader / Snow Removal Equipment Operator

About Us:

Arbor Vitae Landscape & Design is a growing landscape construction company focused on high-quality hardscaping, outdoor living spaces, and professional snow removal services.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable individual who can help lead our landscape crew during the construction season and transition into snow removal operations during the winter.

Responsibilities:

Landscape Season:

- Lead and work alongside a landscape construction crew.
- Install patios, walkways, retaining walls, driveways, steps, fire pits, and other hardscape features.
- Assist with layout, grading, elevations, measurements, and base preparation.
- Operate excavators, skid steers, compactors, saws, and other landscape equipment.
- Keep the crew organized, productive, and working to company quality standards.
- Train and support less-experienced team members.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Communicate professionally with customers and management when required.
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.

Winter Snow Removal:

- Operate plow trucks, skid steers, loaders, tractors, and other snow removal equipment.
- Plow, push, stack, and clear snow from assigned properties.
- Apply salt and de-icing materials when required.
- Follow assigned routes and site-specific instructions.
- Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
- Be available on short notice during snow events, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.





Qualifications:

- 2–3 years of landscape construction or hardscape experience preferred.
- Previous crew leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience operating excavators, skid steers, or similar equipment.
- Snow plowing or winter equipment experience is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to understand grades, measurements, layouts, and project plans.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence required.

Schedule:

Landscape work is primarily Monday to Friday, with weekends as needed.

Winter snow removal is weather dependent and may require overnight, early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
