McGill Architectural Products Ltd., located in Pickering, is currently seeking an Architectural/ Mechanical Draftsperson to be part of our Engineering department. We are looking for a dynamic self-starting Design and Drafting Team Member to join our growing organization. We specialize in the manufacturing and distribution of architectural specialty products for the construction industry across North America. With the success of over 40 years in business, we have developed a quality line of products including louvers, exterior sun shades, decorative facades and entrance grilles.
The role of the Drafter is to work within the Engineering team. This position reports directly to the Design Lead. The successful candidate will be supporting the project design and drafting cycle. You will be responsible to provide detail approval and production drawings on a daily basis as accurately as possible.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a College Program with focus on Architectural/Mechanical Technology
- Excellent academic record.
- Proficient with AutoCAD 2D/3D; Solidworks knowledge is a benefit
- Knowledge of aluminum extrusions and building envelope construction would be an asset.
- Understanding material hardware/library and database to work according to the CAD system.
- Excellent communication skills – Verbal and Written
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Engineering Manager to produce detailed AutoCAD/Solidworks drawings
- Provide feedback to project managers on design, modifications etc.
- Provide customer approval drawings and production work orders.
