Elder Care Transitions (ECT) specializes in helping seniors and their families through major life transitions with compassion, organization, and professionalism. We support older adults with downsizing, relocation, move management, decluttering, and complete room set-up services in retirement residences and new homes.

Our work is about far more than moving furniture — we help create comfort, dignity, and peace of mind during what can often be an emotional and overwhelming time for families.

We are currently looking for a strong, dependable, and solutions-focused Team Lead to lead our moving team on-site.

This role is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, highly organized, naturally takes initiative, and enjoys leading a team while caring for clients in a respectful and compassionate way.

About the Role

The Team Lead is the main point person on move day. You will lead the moving crew, drive the moving truck, oversee timelines, anticipate problems before they happen, and ensure each move runs smoothly from start to finish. This includes packing and unpacking alongside team.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines logistics, team leadership, customer service, and problem-solving.

Team Lead Responsibilities

Leadership & Coordination

- Lead and direct the moving crew throughout the day
- Act as the primary on-site contact for ECT office, clients, and families through continued communication throughout move day.




- Conduct the initial walk-through and confirm all items to be moved
- Review project details and timelines with management
- Anticipate and proactively solve problems as they arise
- Ensure the move stays on schedule and within planned timelines and budget
- Make real-time adjustments to improve efficiency and client experience
- Ensure move team is following all ECT process, policies and procedures.
- Maintain a calm, organized, and professional environment
- Responsible for tracking hours & expenses of team on move day.
- Responsible for communicating hours & expenses to ECT office at end of move day.

Truck Operations & Moving

- Oversee proper loading and unloading procedures
- Ensure items are packed, wrapped, and secured correctly alongside move team.
- Train and guide team members on safe moving practices
- Ensure furniture placement and room set-up follows floor plans when provided
- Complete final room set-up to create a welcoming, turnkey environment

Client Care & Communication

- Help reduce stress and create comfort for seniors and families during the move process
- Communicate updates professionally and compassionately throughout the day
- Notify GM immediately of any pre-existing damage
- Photograph items and completed room set-ups for documentation
- Conduct final walk-throughs with clients and families
- Deliver a high level of service with patience, empathy, and professionalism

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of professional moving experience
- Minimum 4 years of driving experience
- Experience leading a team is considered a strong asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends

Schedule

- Day shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional evenings and weekends as needed
- 8–12 hour shifts depending on project needs
