Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Class 1 Truck Driver to join our asphalt operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for hauling heavy equipment, materials, and a pup trailer to and from job sites. The role also includes routine maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles and trailers are safe, clean, and in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate Class 1 vehicles including trucks, equipment trailers, and pup trailers.
- Haul paving equipment, materials, and aggregates to and from various job sites.
- Load and unload equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain accurate logbooks.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and trailers as needed.
- Monitor and report any mechanical issues or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Assist with yard and equipment organization when not driving.
- Maintain compliance with all transportation and safety regulations.
- Support the paving crew as needed to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.




- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating Class 1 vehicles, preferably in a construction or paving environment.
- Experience hauling pup trailers and heavy equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to work long hours, including early mornings and weekends during peak season.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Alberta transportation and safety regulations.
