Prairie Chef Gourmet Foods Ltd is a small business located in Winnipeg focused on producing the highest quality food products for food service and retail stores across Canada.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor, the General Labourer is responsible for various tasks that support the overall operation of the production on shift.

Responsibilities may include:

- Lift and carry raw material, weighing up to 50 lbs
- Lift trays of product onto and off of carts.
- Cut different cuts of meat to suit various uses.
- Inspect, grade, scale, weigh and pack products.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Adhere to Food Safety, Health & Safety standards.
- Work as part of a team and independently.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of a time.
- Must be able to work in a cold environment.
- Must be reliable and dedicated.
- A willingness to develop, desire to learn and be trained in other areas is an asset.
- Additional duties as required.
- Assist in all areas of the plant as needed.
- Follow our sanitation program to maintain food safety.

Qualifications and Experience:

- We are looking for those with the initiative to work hard and learn our processes.
- Must be reliable.

Physical Abilities:

- Employee must be able to stand for long periods.
- Employee must be able to bend, lift and twist.
- Employee must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
