Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shop Foreman/woman to lead our maintenance and repair operations for Heavy Trucks & Trailers. In this vital role, you will oversee daily shop activities, coordinate repairs, and ensure that all equipment—including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery—is maintained at peak performance. Your mechanical expertise and leadership skills will drive productivity while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the shop team to ensure timely maintenance, repairs, and inspections of Heavy Trucks & Trailers
- Coordinate with project managers to prioritize equipment needs and schedule repairs efficiently
- Perform troubleshooting using schematics and technical manuals for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Conduct welding, assembly, and routine mechanical work using hand tools and power tools
- Oversee heavy lifting operations safely within the shop environment and during equipment repairs or installations
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and repair logs
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background working with Heavy Trucks & Trailers
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, welding, electrical systems, schematics reading, and general maintenance
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems or other specialized industrial equipment is a plus
- Robust leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards
- Customer service skills to communicate effectively with project teams and vendors
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
