Duties
- Diagnose and repair automotive air conditioning systems using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC components, including refrigerant recharges, compressor repairs, and system evacuations
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to assemble or replace parts as needed
- Conduct heavy lifting of components and equipment safely during repairs or installations
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to troubleshoot complex HVAC issues effectively
- Utilize automotive repair knowledge to identify mechanical problems beyond air conditioning systems when necessary
- Maintain detailed service records, update repair logs, and ensure all work complies with safety standards
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks such as belt replacements, hose repairs, and system inspections
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Previous mechanic experience with a focus on automotive air conditioning systems is an asset
