We are currently seeking dependable and professional Security Guards to join our team in Thunder Bay.

Job Summary

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure setting for clients, employees, visitors, and the public. The successful candidate will monitor assigned locations, conduct patrols, respond to incidents, enforce site policies, and provide professional customer service.

This position requires strong observation skills, good judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and patrol assigned premises to help prevent theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other security concerns.
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols.
- Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, and surveillance systems when required.
- Control access to buildings and verify identification or authorization when necessary.
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and suspicious activity.
- Enforce client policies, site procedures, and safety regulations.
- Provide a visible security presence to deter unwanted or criminal activity.
- Assist employees, customers, visitors, and members of the public when required.
- Contact emergency services or law enforcement when necessary.
- Complete detailed daily activity logs, occurrence reports, and incident reports.
- Report safety hazards, property damage, suspicious behaviour, and security concerns to management.
- Perform lock and unlock procedures when assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client information and security procedures.




- Work cooperatively with site management, emergency responders, law enforcement, and other security personnel.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.

Qualifications

- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence required.
- Previous security experience is considered an asset but is not required for all positions.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or confrontational situations.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to follow instructions, site procedures, and company policies.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods and performing regular patrol duties.
- Basic knowledge of emergency procedures and applicable security regulations is an asset.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
