We are seeking a skilled and dependable Full time Handyman Helper to join our small business team in Oshawa, Ontario. This role focuses our residential units for Durham Region Non-Profit Housing. this includes in-suite repairs, renovations of vacant units and some ground maintenance work. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, show initiative and respect the tenant's property.

Duties

In-Suite Repairs & Tenant Maintenance:

- Perform timely repairs inside tenanted suites (e.g., patching drywall, replacing flooring, doors, locks, carpentry, and painting etc.).

Vacant Unit Renovations:

- Conduct renovations in vacant units, including:
- Patching and painting walls.
- Replacing or repairing flooring.
- Installing or repairing cabinetry, countertops, and basic fixtures.
- Performing some basic plumbing




- Ensure units are rent-ready in a timely manner and meet cleanliness and livability standards.

Qualifications

- Previous hands-on experience in property maintenance, construction.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, and painting.
- Familiarity with Ontario health/safety standards is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and working in varied conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in a job well done.
- Valid driver’s license
- Current Canadian Criminal Record Check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
