Deli Associate

Puccini’s is looking for a food enthusiast to join our growing business as North Vancouver’s only authentic Italian Deli & Specialty store. The primary purpose of the “Charcuterie” Associate is to educate our customers about the wide variety of cured meats, imported cheeses, and other specialty store products. This individual is responsible for providing friendly, courteous and helpful customer service while preparing customer orders.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Provide superior customer service
- Educate customers about the charcuterie & specialty products available in the store
- Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements
- Maintain the highest level of standards in all cutting and product preparation and preservation
- Initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products
- Competency in setting up and breaking down the department, including central displays
- Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
- Participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock
- Communicate any customer special requests to management




- Communicates with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
- Creative merchandising, including the building of effective displays
- Taking assigned inventory and assisting in ordering and developing production quantities
- Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

- Working knowledge of charcuterie and specialty products
- Participation in continuous education to further knowledge of products
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and fellow Associates
- Ability to incrementally impact sales in a positive manner
- Proficiency in customer service
- Ability to read, write and count
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure
- Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store
- Ability to work diverse hours/days as dictated by business.
- Ability to consistently care for and service the product and displays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.25 per hour
