Calmo is a new neighbourhood bakery café and wine bar opening near Dundas West / Ossington.

We’re building a warm, thoughtful space focused on in-house baked goods, good coffee, simple food, wine, and genuine hospitality.

We’re currently looking for a Part-Time Baker to join our opening team.

Our bakery program is small and focused, with an emphasis on simple, well-executed baked goods made in-house. We’re looking for someone who works cleanly and efficiently, has strong attention to detail, and can consistently follow recipes and production standards.

What You’ll Do

- Prepare and bake Calmo’s daily bakery selection
- Produce items such as scones, cakes, brownies, pies, and other seasonal baked goods
- Complete daily prep and mise en place
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, and production standards consistently
- Scale and measure ingredients accurately
- Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality
- Assist with new product testing and seasonal menu development
- Maintain a clean and organized baking station
- Manage ingredient rotation, labeling, and storage
- Help monitor bakery inventory and communicate ordering needs
- Support general kitchen prep and cleaning when needed

Who You Are

- Previous bakery, pastry, café, or professional kitchen experience preferred
- Comfortable producing baked goods independently
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Able to accurately follow recipes and measurements
- Organized, clean, and efficient
- Reliable and punctual




- Comfortable working in a small kitchen environment
- Interested in baking, food, and thoughtful café culture

Culinary or pastry school experience is an asset, but not required.

Food Handler Certification is also an asset.

Schedule

Part-time

Approximately 15–25 hours per week, depending on experience and availability.

Morning and daytime availability is preferred.

Exact working days and hours can be discussed based on availability and our production schedule.

Pay: $17.60-$19.00 per hour
