Casual Custodian Maintenance staff

Nature of work
This is manual work of limited complexity in performing recurrent and defined janitorial and custodial duties at the various North Shore Neighbourhood House centres.
Performs a variety of cleaning duties such as
- Sweeping, mopping, washing waxing, stripping and polishing floors, washing hand basins, sinks and toilets, replenishing supplies, vacuuming, garbage removal.
- Sets up tables and chairs for scheduled events, moves or provides furniture and equipment, locks and unlocks doors as well as provides assistance to members of the public.
Required knowledge, abilities & skills
- Some knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in providing janitorial services.




- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patrons, staff and members of the public.
Desirable Training & Experience.
- Completion of Grade 10 ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions.
- Completion of Building Service Worker certificate plus experience in janitorial and custodial work or related work.

Valid B.C. Driver's license.

Pay: $21.10 per hour
