IWHC Toronto is seeking a compassionate, professional, and client-focused Sexual Health Counsellor who is fluent in Portuguese to join our team for a 12–18 month maternity leave coverage.

The Sexual Health Counsellor provides confidential, non-judgmental, culturally responsive, and language-accessible sexual and reproductive health counselling, education, and referrals to new and returning clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide sexual and reproductive health counselling, education, information, and referrals.
- Conduct client intake, assessment, counselling, interpretation, and follow-up.
- Support clients in understanding treatment options, test findings, appointments, procedures, and clinic policies.
- Provide Portuguese-English interpretation between clients and physicians when required.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in the EMR.
- Coordinate referrals and assist clients in accessing healthcare services beyond IWHC Toronto’s mandate.
- Support outreach, education, online, and social media initiatives as required.
- Assist with front desk and general clinic operations,



including answering phones, client registration, processing referrals and documents, and other administrative duties.
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with physicians, staff, volunteers, clients, and the Management Team.
- Maintain current knowledge of sexual and reproductive health practices and standards.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will demonstrate robust communication and interpersonal skills, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing equitable and non-judgmental care. Fluency in Portuguese and English is required. Experience in sexual health, reproductive health, counselling, community health, or a related healthcare setting is an asset.
