We are preparing to launch and grow an online education business specializing in Massage and Assisted Stretching training, and specialized massage and bodywork programs forming part of our broader curriculum.
We have spent several years developing professional curricula, extensive professionally filmed instructional content, course manuals and online training programs. Our website, online learning platform and CRM infrastructure are also currently being completed by separate technical specialists.
We are now looking for an experienced Digital Marketing & Online Course Sales Manager to take ownership of the marketing and sales side of our online-course, launch it properly, and build a system that can grow.
This Is a Marketing + Sales + Implementation Role
We are not looking for someone to simply create marketing plans, post on social media or provide recommendations that someone else must figure out how to implement. This is not primarily a social-media posting, website-development or technical CRM implementation position.
We need someone who can see the big picture, develop strong marketing and sales strategies, organize implementation, coordinate creative resources, manage deadlines and—most importantly—bring projects to completion.
You should be able to:
Research → Plan → Implement → Launch → Generate Leads → Convert Leads into Paying Students → Measure → Improve
Our objective is measurable growth in qualified leads, paid course enrolments and revenue.
Relevant Online-Course Experience Is Important
We strongly prefer candidates who have successfully marketed and launched paid online courses, professional education programs, certification programs, continuing-education programs or skills-based training similar to ours.
Experience with health, wellness, fitness, movement, professional education or other skills-based training is particularly relevant.
Please be prepared to explain:
- What you personally did
- What was launched
- How students or customers were acquired
- What marketing channels were used
- What measurable results were achieved
Generic social-media marketing experience alone is not sufficient for this role.
You will work directly with the business owner and coordinate with our existing VAs, video editors, developers and other specialists as required.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement the marketing and sales system needed to successfully sell our online courses in Canada and eventually the United States and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Student Acquisition
- Develop the student-acquisition strategy and sales funnels for our primary Massage and Assisted Stretching courses.
- Determine and develop the complete prospective-student journey from:
Awareness → Lead Generation → Lead Nurturing → Course Consideration → Sales Follow-Up → Paid Enrolment → Repeat / Future Course Purchases
- Turn marketing plans into functioning campaigns, processes and measurable student enrolments—not simply recommendations for others to figure out how to implement.
- Identify priority audiences and promising geographic markets in Canada and eventually the United States, particularly markets where specialized Massage and Assisted Stretching training may not be readily available.
- Develop market hypotheses, test them through controlled campaigns, measure the results and recommend where we should increase, maintain or reduce our marketing investment.
- Create and maintain a clear marketing implementation plan with priorities, responsibilities, deadlines, deliverables, dependencies and status.
Market & Competitor Research
- Research potential geographic markets and student audiences using evidence rather than assumptions.
- Evaluate factors such as competing local training, competitor courses and pricing, search demand, relevant professional populations, audience and market characteristics, advertising costs and actual campaign performance.
- Identify markets where there may be strong interest in specialized professional training but limited convenient access to comparable local education.
- Use actual marketing and sales results to help determine which markets deserve greater investment.
Brand Positioning & Messaging
- Help refine and consistently communicate our positioning as an academy specializing primarily in Massage and Assisted Stretching education, while also offering Swedish Massage training.
- Develop key marketing messages for different audiences, including massage therapists, bodyworkers, personal trainers, fitness and wellness professionals, beginners and previous students.
- Maintain consistency across our website, course pages, advertising, email, social media, video content, Open Houses and sales communications.
- Help identify gaps in our existing brand guidelines and refine or expand them as the Academy and its course offerings evolve.
Course Sales Pages & Conversion
- Review and improve our existing course pages and landing-page content from a marketing, sales, and conversion perspective.
- Improve headlines, course positioning, benefits and learning outcomes, course differentiation, course previews, testimonials, FAQs, objection handling,
calls to action, pricing presentation and overall sales conversion flow.
- Work intelligently with the substantial amount of content already developed rather than unnecessarily starting everything again.
Online Open House
- Develop and operate a repeatable monthly online Open House for prospective students.
- Develop and manage promotional strategy, registration funnel, reminders, attendance strategy, presentation structure, follow-up communications, and post-event sales process.
- Track registrations, attendance, follow-up activity and resulting course enrolments.
- Ensure the Open House functions as an effective lead-generation and enrolment tool rather than simply an informational presentation.
- Work with our internal team, which can assist with development of the actual presentation materials.
Content Marketing
We already have an extensive library of professionally filmed instructional footage developed over several years.
We need someone who can develop and implement a systematic strategy for repurposing selected existing material into effective:
- Short-form educational videos
- Instagram and Facebook content
- YouTube content and YouTube Shorts
- Course previews
- Paid advertisements
- Email content
- Website content
For each piece of content, determine:
- Who it is intended for
- What message it should communicate
- Which stage of the sales funnel it supports
- What call to action it should contain
- Where and how it should be distributed
The objective is not to continually create expensive new footage. We want to make much better marketing use of the high-quality material we already have.
Creative Direction
- Develop clear creative briefs for video editors and other creative contractors.
- Determine what marketing content should be produced, why it should be produced and how it supports the overall marketing and sales strategy.
- Help establish consistency in branding, messaging, visual presentation, typography, calls to action, video structure, course positioning, etc.
- Review creative work and ensure projects move efficiently from concept through production, approval, completion and publication.
Paid Advertising Strategy
Develop and help implement our advertising strategy for:
- Meta / Facebook / Instagram
- Google
- YouTube
Help determine target audiences, geographic markets, campaign structure, messaging, creative requirements, landing destinations, retargeting, testing priorities and advertising budgets.
Coordinate specialized paid-advertising contractors when required rather than necessarily performing every technical advertising function personally, while remaining responsible for ensuring that paid campaigns fit into the overall marketing, student-acquisition and sales strategy.
Sales Process
Develop and implement a practical sales process for prospective students, including inquiry handling, lead qualification, course recommendations, follow-up schedules, sales scripts and email templates, FAQs and objection handling, Open House follow-up, lead stages and escalation procedures.
Help determine which routine sales activities can eventually be handled by trained VAs and which require a more experienced team member.
CRM Business Requirements
Our FluentCRM technical implementation is being handled separately.
You will not be responsible for rebuilding or technically implementing our CRM.
However, you should help ensure our marketing and sales requirements are clearly defined, including lead categories, course interests, sales stages, follow-up requirements, lead nurturing, segmentation, and reporting requirements.
Reporting
Develop a simple weekly marketing and sales dashboard covering the information management actually needs to make decisions, including leads, qualified leads, course sales, revenue, advertising spend and acquisition costs, Open House performance, best-performing courses, markets and campaigns, key sales objections and recommended next actions.
We want useful, actionable decision-making information—not complicated reports for the sake of reporting.
Project Management & Completion
- Create and maintain one explicit marketing implementation plan showing:
- Priority
- Deliverable
- Person responsible
- Deadline
- Status
- Dependencies
- Definition of completion
- Coordinate marketing projects with our owner, VAs, video editors and outside specialists.
- Establish clear deadlines and deliverables, follow up on outstanding work, resolve blockers and keep projects moving.
- Ensure work progresses through the complete process:
Discussion → Decision → Production → Approval → Launch → Measurement
- Document successful processes so routine work can eventually be delegated to internal staff and VAs.
What This Role Is — and Is Not
A major responsibility of this position is not simply developing ideas,
strategies or recommendations, but ensuring that agreed marketing and sales initiatives are actually implemented, completed, launched and measured.
Separate specialists are already working on much of our:
- WordPress development
- LearnDash implementation
- FluentCRM technical implementation
- Website programming
- Technical integrations
We do not want someone coming in and unnecessarily rebuilding, rewriting, replacing or restructuring work that has already been completed or is currently underway. We expect the successful candidate to build on what already exists and focus their time on moving the business forward.
Your primary focus will be:
Marketing Strategy + Sales + Brand Messaging + Content Direction + Launch Execution + Project Completion
You will work with existing technical specialists where necessary to ensure the marketing and sales strategy is properly implemented.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience across several of the following areas:
- Digital marketing strategy
- Online course, education or training marketing
- Sales funnels and customer journeys
- Lead generation and lead nurturing
- Brand positioning and messaging
- Landing-page conversion
- Email marketing
- Content marketing
- Meta advertising strategy
- Google advertising strategy
- YouTube marketing
- Sales-process development
- Marketing analytics and performance measurement
- Project management
- Managing freelancers and creative contractors
Experience marketing online education, professional training programs or course launches is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with WordPress, LearnDash, FluentCRM or comparable systems is helpful, but you do not need to be our technical developer.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can take ownership, work independently, organize complicated projects, coordinate the people required to execute them, and bring projects through to completion without requiring constant direction from the owner.
