Position Summary

The Reconciliation Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across Sorbara Group of Companies. This position is responsible for reviewing, reconciling, and validating account balances across multiple entities and projects, with a focus on strengthening financial accuracy and supporting reliable reporting. The role works closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the broader Accounting team to investigate discrepancies, resolve variances, and enhance overall financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Account Reconciliations

- Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany balances across multiple entities
- Review historical transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain clear and organized supporting documentation for all reconciliations

Financial Accuracy & Integrity

- Ensure all account balances are accurate and properly supported
- Work closely with Accounting to correct mispostings, inconsistencies, or incomplete entries
- Assist in bringing accounts to a fully reconciled and supportable state

Intercompany & Project-Based Reconciliations





- Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across development entities
- Work across multiple projects to ensure financial alignment and accuracy at both entity and consolidated levels
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate transactions and resolve outstanding items

Reporting & Support

- Provide regular updates on reconciliation progress, outstanding items, and key findings
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring reconciliations are completed and up to date
- Assist with audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation

Process Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and reduce discrepancies going forward
- Recommend best practices for account maintenance and documentation
- Support the implementation of more efficient workflows and better utilization of systems such as Newstar

Collaboration

- Work closely with AP, AR, and Finance teams to gather information and resolve issues
- Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders regarding discrepancies and required actions
- Act as a key resource for ensuring financial data consistency across department

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in account reconciliation, accounting, or financial analysis
- Strong understanding of general ledger structures and accounting principles
- Experience working with ERP systems (Newstar experience is an asset)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail

Sorbara offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience. The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000. This position is available due to an existing vacancy.
