Eascan Automation Inc. — Field Service Electrician — PLC, Robotics & Automation

Winnipeg, MB | Permanent | $90,000–$110,000 | Multiple positions | Senior only

Our field service techs are the doctors of the robots and machines. When a line goes down, they are the ones who show up, work out what is wrong, and bring it back. It is a senior role, and we are not hiring at a junior level for it, because a customer with a stopped line needs someone who has seen the problem before.

We are growing the Service Team and looking for technicians who like a day that does not repeat itself. You will be diagnosing complex electrical problems on live industrial equipment, working with current automation hardware, and standing between our customers and downtime. PLCs, VFDs, and servo drives are the core of the job.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Lead the diagnosis and repair of industrial electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Work hands-on across PLC and HMI platforms from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Automation Direct, and Schneider.
- Take on drive systems, motion control, servo equipment, and high-precision automation.
- Keep machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence) inspecting and sensing accurately.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics with confidence.
- Support robotic cells from Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa, and Dobot.
- Test and maintain safety components such as light curtains and dual-channel safety controls.
- Do proactive maintenance so customers do not lose production.
- Pitch in on mechanical repairs when the job calls for it.
- Keep clear service notes and update the Service Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING

- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification.
- PLC experience. This one is not optional.
- Strong industrial electrical knowledge and real troubleshooting instinct.
- Comfort working on both electrical and mechanical machinery.
- The independence to work solo at a customer site, and the temperament to work with a crew.
- Professional communication and a customer-friendly attitude.
- Protected work practices, every time.

ABOUT THE ON-CALL ROTATION

When a client is down and needs us, the hour on the clock does not matter. We get them running again, day or night. We have a team of on-call technicians, and you'll be on call every 8 weeks, on average. There is extra compensation for on-call personnel.

Overtime and weekend work come up during busy service periods, and they are paid as such.

THE OFFER

- Competitive Salary — Paid to the market for the trade and the experience you bring, and reviewed as you grow.
- $2,500 Health Spending Account /year — Yours to spend on what your family actually needs, on top of the benefits plan.
- Health Benefits Plan + Vision and Dental — Full plan including vision and dental, with premiums shared evenly between you and Eascan.
- RPSP/DPSP 4% Match — Eascan matches the amount you want to contribute, up to four percent of your earnings, toward your retirement.
- Training & Learning Sponsored by Eascan — Tickets, certifications, and manufacturer training on new equipment, covered by the company.
- OT & 2×OT, on-call, weekends, holidays — Overtime and double overtime when the call comes in. If you give up your Saturday, you are paid for it.
- Work from Home, hybrid arrangements — Flexibility to work from home on a hybrid schedule, where the role allows for it.
- Monthly phone allowance — Reimbursed every month toward your phone bill, so work calls are not coming out of your pocket.
- Paid Time Off + extra personal days — Vacation and paid personal days, and unpaid personal days as necessary (we know, life happens!)
- Optional Extended health care — Additional coverage available on top of the plan if you want it for you or your family.
- On-site Parking — Park at the door on Wall Street. No lot hunting, no monthly pass, no winter walk.
- Health and Wellness Support — Online Support for you and your family: counselling and 24/7 crisis support, a licensed physician on video any hour, second opinions, legal and financial advice, and a pharmacy that delivers.

FLEXIBILITY

Start early, start late, bank time and take it back. Appointments, school pickups, a long weekend that actually starts on Friday. The deal is straightforward: we expect excellence in the work, we expect the work to be done awesomely and timely,

and we expect you to enjoy your life to the fullest while being a great professional. Flexibility is the first thing our team mentions when you ask what they like about working here.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will meet the manager of the department you are applying to, and the CEO. That is who decides, so that is who you talk to.

- Step one: A Teams call. One conversation to get to know each other. No panel, no take-home assignment.
- Step two: A visit to the shop. Come see the floor, the machines, and the people. It is as much your call as ours.
- Step three, sometimes: One last chat, then a Job Offer. Only when we have several strong people at once and need a closer look. Then, the results.

HIRING AT HOME

This role is based at our shop on Wall Street in Winnipeg. We are putting our hiring into Manitoba, into the local trades and the local economy, and we are proud of that.

Immigrants with a valid work permit or permanent residency are very welcome to apply. We are not able to sponsor visas at this time. So if you are not legally entitled to work in Canada, or are not here and not willing to relocate, this may not be the right moment for us.
