Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator (Part Time)
In Port Coquitlam Office: 3-4 days per week
** Must live in Greater Vancouver or Tricities in BC

The Garage Living Vancouver's Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, cash flow, A/P and A/R, processing payroll and commissions, preparing statutory reports, and producing monthly financial and operational reports. There will be some inventory management on a monthly basis. This in-person role supports day-to-day accounting operations, and internal reporting, ensuring timely and accurate information for management decision-making.

Job responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Accounting

- Invoicing and accounts receivable collection
- Post all vendor invoices and payments, that are sent to the company account
- Manage and post expenses for Visa and Debit accounts
- Perform Visa and Debit account reconciliations
- Prepare and file: PST reports (monthly) & GST reports (quarterly)
- Manage vendor postings
- Conduct quarterly balance sheet reviews
- Complete year-end close: Fiscal year-end & Completion deadline

- Increase weekly hours by 3–4 hours for approximately one month to complete year-end tasks
- Assist with questions from accountant requests as needed

Monthly Financial Reporting

Prepare and distribute monthly management reports, including:

- Sales by Customer report
- Profit & Loss Statements
- Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) reports
- Balance Sheet
- KPI reporting template
- Monthly inventory management

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all monthly reporting.

Payroll, HR & Compliance

- Process bi-weekly payroll




- Calculate and process monthly commissions
- Prepare and submit WorkSafe reports: Quarterly & Annual
- Prepare and file: Annual E-Health Tax Report at year-end and filing deadline
- Review and maintain timesheet efficiency documentation (bi-weekly)

Time Commitment & Workload

- Average workload: 3-4 days per week (about 15-25 hrs per week)
- Additional hours during: Fiscal year-end close
- Role does not include miscellaneous tasks requested by management unless separately assigned

Requirements and skills:

- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of cash flow management and A/R collections
- Strong experience preparing PST, GST, and payroll-related filings
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online and Dayforce)
- Ability to manage deadlines and recurring reporting cycles
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small business environment
- Prior experience in a similar role and relevant certification or diploma in accounting, payroll, or finance is an asset
- Prior experience managing inventory is an asset

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
