Job Description:

Hard Surface Tech specializes in various concrete and asphalt-related duties, including but not limited to:

- Coring 12" holes for daylighting utilities in sidewalks, driveways, roads, etc.
- Cutting road and alleyways for underground utility access
- Repairing concrete and asphalt cores and cuts
- Removing and replacing sidewalk panels, gutters, and aprons
- Coring into poured-in-place and precast manholes for utility entrances.
- Driving from site to site with utility van
- Equipment maintenance and inspections
- Completing driver logs and trip inspections
- Reporting progress daily via progress tracking apps

This position will be based in the Greater Edmonton Area and may require occasional travel to other areas within the province.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Ability to tow large trailers, load and unload backup trailers, and operate large equipment in congested areas
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding workplace




- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Proficient in performing strenuous tasks with hands
- Able to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials
- Skilled in accurate measurement and reading specifications
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and adjust to changing work schedules, scope of work requirements, including out-of-town assignments, etc.

Qualifications:

- 2 years of experience preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and accompanying driver's abstract
- CSTS 2020 certification preferred
- Standard First Aid certification preferred
- Confined Space certification preferred
- Fall Protection certification preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
