PART-TIME SEASONAL SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Department: Food & Beverage Reports
To: Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, General Manager, and Owners
Position Type: Part time, Seasonal Position
Summary
The Part-Time Seasonal Shift Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operation of Safari Niagara’s Food & Beverage department and providing hands-on leadership to food service team members during assigned shifts. Working closely with the Food & Beverage Management team, the Shift Supervisor ensures that food service locations operate efficiently, safely, and to Safari Niagara’s standards. This position leads by example, supports team members, monitors service levels, and helps create a positive and memorable guest experience. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, organized, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Leadership - Lead and support Food & Beverage employees during assigned shifts. - Ensure team members are in their assigned positions and ready for service.
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to staff throughout the shift.
- Monitor employee performance and address concerns appropriately.
- Communicate important information and operational updates to the management team.
- Lead by example by maintaining a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude. Food & Beverage Operations
- Assist with opening and closing food service locations.
- Ensure food service areas are properly stocked, clean, organized, and ready for service.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation, and service standards.
- Monitor product levels and communicate when additional food, beverages, or supplies are required.
- Help minimize waste and ensure proper product rotation.
- Assist with maintaining efficient service during busy periods.
- Identify operational issues and communicate them to management promptly.
Guest Service
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure guests receive a welcoming experience.
- Respond to guest questions and concerns professionally.
- Assist in resolving guest complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Monitor lineups, service times, and overall guest flow.
- Promote a positive and family-friendly environment throughout the Food & Beverage department. Health, Safety & Cleanliness
- Follow and enforce all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Ensure employees follow proper food handling and personal hygiene practices.
- Monitor cleanliness of kitchens, service areas, dining areas, storage spaces, and equipment.
- Address cleanliness concerns immediately. - Report health, safety, maintenance, or equipment concerns to management. Communication & Teamwork
- Maintain open communication with the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager.
- Communicate staffing, product, equipment, and operational concerns during the shift.
- Work collaboratively with other Safari Niagara departments.
- Support team members during busy periods and assist wherever operationally required.
Qualifications
- Previous food service, hospitality, retail, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous leadership experience is an asset. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to take direction while also demonstrating initiative.
- Food Handler Certification required or willingness to obtain.
- Smart Serve Certification is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Schedule & Availability - Must be available to work weekends and statutory holidays throughout the operating season.
- Flexible availability is required based on operational needs.
- Availability between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. is required.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Additional hours may be required during peak periods, special events, and exceptionally busy operating days.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
