0.80 FTE Regular Family School Liaison Counsellor – 30 hrs/wk (Enchant, Lomond and Hays School)

Hours of work include: Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. & one (1) Friday 8:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m.

Horizon School Division is searching for a Family School Liaison Counsellor. The successful candidate must hold a degree in Social Work, or a Master’s Degree in Counselling or related discipline. The candidate must be registered or eligible for a professional association including College of Alberta Psychologists (Counselling Therapist) and Alberta College of Social Workers. Experience in counselling children and adolescents is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be required to provide counselling services for students at our Taber and Rural area schools.

The Family School Liaison Counsellor is required to:

- provide one-to-one counselling for students/families

- facilitate counselling groups for students

- provide classroom presentations

- liaison with other professionals in the community

- attend collaborative team meetings and individual student plan meetings

- appropriate clinical documentation that complies with legal and College requirements

- provide crisis response intervention in the schools
