Position Summary
The Bus Driver is responsible for ensuring the protected and timely operation of transportation services. This includes transporting children and youth to and from the facility for evening programs during the fall through spring months. When not actively transporting, the Bus Driver may be required to assist with other Club operations, such as custodial duties or the delivery and pick-up of items.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Transportation

- Transports participants to and from the facility in a safe and secure manner, adhering to Ministry of Transportation regulations, laws, agency policies & procedures and best practices.

Vehicle Maintenance

- Conducts and records daily Ministry of Transportation (MTO) inspections on vehicle(s).
- Conducts day-to-day upkeep requirements (obtaining fuel, cleaning, etc.) of vehicle(s).
- Coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor for semi and annual MTO inspections and vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all validation stickers and requirements are up-to-date and obtained (i.e. license plate renewal, MTO inspections).

Health and Safety





- Ensures the vehicles are maintained in a state that will reflect the high standards of the agency.
- Reports immediately to supervisor any concerns regarding the status and/or safe operations of the vehicle(s).
- Administers First Aid/CPR as necessary.

Qualifications

Education:

- High School Diploma or equivalency certificate.

Related Experience:

- Minimum 3 years of experience transporting children/youth

Additional Skills:

- Class F Driver’s License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Current First Aid/CPR (*required)
- Vulnerable sector check and police check
- Knowledge of general vehicle maintenance practices

*Hours of work will vary depending on program needs. Some typical shifts could include 1:00pm-9:00pm, 12:00pm-5:00pm ect
