Ritestart Limited is seeking Jr. Construction Site Superintendent to join our growing team on an exciting project in Midland, Ontario. This position could lead to future local and remote work across various areas of Ontario.
The ideal candidate MUST be able to display 2 years of ICI construction experience in a Jr. Superintendent role.
Our Jr. Site Superintendent is a "boots-to-the ground" employee who will assist the Site Superintendent in overseeing daily operations of the site.
This is a junior leadership role which will involve managing subcontractors, project safety, site quality, and project schedule, while maintaining a strong relationship with the client, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities of the Jr. Construction Site Superintendent includes, but are not limited to:
- Follow all Ritestart Limited safety policies and procedures, along with all legislated policies and procedures.
- Assist the Site Superintendent with all facets of day-to-day operations on the project.
- Review contract documentation thoroughly to understand the scope of work and project specifications.
- Review all drawings and subcontractors scope of work.
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise work.
- Collaborate with the Ritestart Team for quick resolution.
- Work with all subcontractors to ensure a high level of safety and quality.
- Update and maintain a 2-week look ahead schedule.
- Update and maintain as-built drawings.
- Coordinate and manage long-lead time times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and logs (including photos, safety inspections, reports, etc.).
- Attend and/or chair project meetings as required.
- Conduct quality control checks on all work to ensure compliance and conformity.
- Conduct new worker site-specific safety orientation and review safety training records.
- Occasionally perform physical labour as required to support project completion or to adhere to safety requirements.
- Other duties as required.
The work schedule is based on a forty (40) hour work week, but there will be times when the project may required additional hours or adjustments to shifts - with proper coordination and communication with the General Superintendent, lieu time can be coordinated.
Work Workplace
- Work is performed on construction sites, which may involve exposure to outdoor elements and weather conditions (mud, rain, snow, dirt, sun, bugs, etc.).
- This project may involve night and/or weekend work.
- The physical demands of the job will require a lot of walking around construction projects with possible exposure to rough and unlevel terrain.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required at all times.
