The Labour Relations Consultant will be responsible for working with the management team, union leaders and employees to establish and sustain a positive work environment within the HRCE by supporting labour relations functions such as grievance and arbitration handling, contract negotiations and administration of collective agreements. The Labour Relations Consultant will also be responsible for providing leadership and support for a range of services that contribute to the growth and development of the organization including enhanced performance management systems and professional development. Working in a client-service based environment, the Labour Relations Consultant reports directly to the Director, Human Resource Services (or designate).

Qualifications:

a) Undergraduate degree at the university level with a concentration in a human resources or related discipline or acceptable combination of training and experience;

(b) Minimum three (3) years experience in labour/industrial relations with an emphasis on collective bargaining, grievance handling or other areas dealing with employment and labour law or acceptable equivalent experience working in a large, unionized environment;

(c ) Proficiency using a variety of software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, database systems

Salary:

This is a PEG (Professional Employees Group) position classified on the Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework at Band 9 with a salary range between $82,350-$102,938 eff Aug 1/26.
