Job Summary

Join our team as a 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic. This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on training and mentorship in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of on highway equipment. You will develop skills working with diverse equipment, all while gaining valuable experience in mechanical systems, electrical components, and diagnostic techniques. Duties

- Assist senior mechanics with maintenance, repairs, and inspections of equipment
- Learn to interpret schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to perform repairs under supervision
- Conduct routine inspections to identify wear and tear on equipment and ensure safety standards are met
- Support the disassembly and reassembly of components for repairs or upgrades
- Participate in heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate equipment and techniques




- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and diagnostics conducted for each job
- Perform routine service work and repairs as required.

Requirements

- Robust mechanical knowledge with a keen interest in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, must have 3+ years experience working on, on highway tractors/trailers/body jobs/etc.
- Eagerness to learn is essential
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and read schematics effectively
- Willingness to perform heavy lifting safely and work with industrial equipment regularly
- Basic electrical understanding and computer diagnostics is preferred

This apprenticeship position is designed for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in heavy-duty mechanics. We provide hands on training with practical experience.

Monday to Friday 7:30am-5pm.

Wages dependent on year of apprenticeship and experience.
