Job Summary:

Reporting to the HSE Director, Western Canada, the Health & Safety Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for HSE programs across Western Canada. Responsibilities include incident reporting, compliance tracking, HSE systems administration, training coordination, subcontractor compliance, audits, safety documentation, and field support. This role is ideal for an early-career HSE professional seeking hands-on experience in a national organization focused on safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Incident Management & Program Support

- Coordinate incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and record management.
- Track outstanding action items and assist with safety performance reporting.

HSE Systems & Compliance

- Maintain HSE systems, employee records, training data, certificates, and compliance documentation.
- Support eCompliance administration, reporting, and user assistance.
- Generate reports related to incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions.

Subcontractor Compliance

- Support subcontractor prequalification and compliance through Avetta, eCompliance, and internal programs.
- Track documentation, address deficiencies, and maintain contractor safety records.

Audits & Program Administration

- Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Review safety documentation and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support COR requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Training & Orientation

- Coordinate training courses, employee orientations,



and onboarding activities.
- Maintain training records and assist with safety communications and toolbox talks.

General HSE Support

- Coordinate PPE and safety equipment administration.
- Attend safety and project meetings as required.
- Provide administrative support to the Western Canada HSE team.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in health and safety, construction, industrial, facilities, or coordination roles.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe work practices.
- Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Experience with eCompliance, Avetta, or contractor compliance programs is an asset.
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel within Western Canada as required.

Please note: this is an in-office position, 5 days per week. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available. Occasional travel throughout Western Canada may be required.

The salary range is $68,000.00 to $78,000.00 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth’s total compensation package,



which also includes additional rewards and benefits such as short-term incentives and health insurance, among others.
