Our client is a global manufacturer involved in cross-border manufacturing activities, overseeing import and export operations across Canada and the US. As their trade compliance needs grow due to tariff changes and increasing international container movements, they are expanding their team to ensure continued regulatory adherence and operational efficiency. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to support day-to-day customs activities, working closely with internal teams, customs brokers, and government agencies to keep trade flows smooth and compliant.

You will be partnering directly with a senior trade compliance specialist, handling transactional work, research, and documentation review. Your work will influence broader supply chain performance and compliance accuracy, providing valuable experience in a key business function.

What You'll Be Doing

- Support daily customs, import/export activities, and trade compliance processes for Canada and US operations.
- Review trade documents, including commercial invoices and bills of materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations, supporting compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to source information and resolve routine customs questions.
- Maintain documentation and support compliance activities related to trade laws and free trade agreements.
- Aid in preparing reports and tracking trade data within ERP and customs platforms.

What You Bring





- 1–3 years of trade compliance or customs experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with HS classification, customs documentation, and broker interactions.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar applications.
- Knowledge of US and Canadian import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) and/or CTCS (Certified Trade Compliance Specialist) designation is required.
- Strong research skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Assets include experience with cross-border machinery, industrial components, or automotive manufacturing.

Compensation
The estimated base pay rate for this position is CAD $62,000 to CAD $72,000 per year as of the posting date. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and training. Please note that this range reflects the base pay rate only and does not include any applicable bonuses or advantages.
