Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our automotive manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring products meet strict quality standards through thorough inspections, data collection, and analysis. Your efforts will help maintain high-quality output, optimize quality management processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting chance to contribute to a dynamic production environment where quality is at the forefront of everything we do.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the selection of parts, measurement and data collection for PPAP requirements.
- Required to review and train associates in the use of all applicable tags, stickers and/or labels.
- Required to perform receiving inspection, in-process and final inspection requirements and record results on specified inspection sheets or related documents.
- Required to perform First Piece Setup inspection requirements, communicate results to production or tool-room associates and train production associates as required.
- Required to perform Last Off inspection and report any quality concerns on the work order. Required to store all First Off & Last Off parts in the applicable storage bin or container.
- Required to organize the initial training of operators with the care and use of measuring equipment and reporting of information as outlined in the product binder and related documents.
- Required to maintain all measuring equipment and fixtures in proper working order,
appearance and perform gauge R/R or calibration studies as required.
- Required to maintain control of all non-conforming material, segregation, and completion of tags or DMR reports.
- Required to monitor all operations at the prescribed frequency and assist all associates as required.
- Required to train all associates as required in the measurement, recording, plotting and analysis of out of control situations for SPC or capability requirements.
- Required to participate in any and all internal or external audits as required.
- Required to maintain good house keeping principles in the QA lab and QA work stations
- Any and all other reasonable functions and responsibilities assigned by management
Requirements
- Understand fundamentals of quality assurance.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Can work independently at times and make sound decisions and recommendations.
- Must have a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T;)
- Knowledge in statistical process control.
- Sound knowledge of IATF 16949
- Two years automotive manufacturing experience; preferably in metal stamping
- Computer skills such as Microsoft Office; Minitab or similar an asset
Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
