Duties
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear, accurate images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety
- Review and analyze ultrasound images for quality and clarity before submitting them for physician review
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, findings, and patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to interpret images and assist in diagnosis
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards throughout all procedures
- Stay current with technological advancements and best practices in diagnostic sonography
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or similar role in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency with various ultrasound equipment and imaging techniques
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately document findings and communicate effectively with medical teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills to comfort patients during procedures and explain processes clearly
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification or licensure as required by state or local regulations for sonographers
- Nice-to-have: Additional certifications in specialized imaging areas or advanced ultrasound techniques
