Construction Supervisor / Foreman

Earth & Iron Inc. is a proudly 100% Canadian, privately held organization based in Drayton Valley, Alberta.
We are looking for a strong, experienced leader to take an active role in our field operations. This is an prospect for someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys leading a crew, and knows how to keep a job moving safely, efficiently, and professionally.
We value supervisors who lead by example, communicate well with their crews, and make sound decisions in the field. The right person will be trusted to organize daily work, coordinate people and equipment, solve problems as they arise, and help build a crew that works well together.
Position Details
Job Type: Full-time
Work Locations: Drayton Valley & Grande Prairie, Alberta
Driver's License: Required
Safety Tickets: H2S, First Aid, and other required certifications - assistance available to obtain or renew as needed
GPS Machine Control Experience: Asset, but not required
Additional Tickets & Certifications: Preferred

Responsibilities
- Lead and provide day-to-day direction to construction crews in the field.
- Plan and organize daily activities, manpower, equipment, and materials to keep work moving.
- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and conduct.
- Build a positive and respectful crew environment while holding people accountable.
- Coach employees, address concerns early, and handle difficult conversations professionally when required.
- Monitor job progress, workmanship, productivity, and changing site conditions.
- Make practical field decisions and communicate progress, issues, and needs to management.
- Coordinate effectively with customers, subcontractors, other trades, and company personnel.
- Lead toolbox meetings and ensure company and customer safety requirements are followed.
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and job documentation accurately and on time.
- Work alongside and support the crew when required.
Skills
- Proven experience successfully leading construction, oilfield, earthworks, or similar field crews.
- Strong people skills with the ability to earn respect, communicate clearly, and work with different personalities.
- A firm but fair leadership style - someone who can support a crew while holding people accountable.
- Good judgment and the confidence to make decisions in the field.
- Strong organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of construction practices, equipment, and jobsite safety.
- Experience with GPS machine control systems is an asset, but not required.
- Ability to stay composed and productive when priorities, schedules, or site conditions change.
- Dependable, approachable, and willing to lead by example.
- Comfortable working outdoors in rugged environments and varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's licence required.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
- H2S, First Aid, and other required safety certifications are preferred. If you are the right fit but need to obtain or renew required tickets, Earth & Iron can help arrange them.
- Additional safety tickets and certifications are an asset.
