The Opportunity

As a Host at Sofia, you are at the center of our front-of-house operations.

You will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, and balancing floor seating to ensure optimal service flow. With a team-first mindset and strong attention to detail, you will go above and beyond to accommodate special requests, manage wait times, and uphold Sofia’s reputation for refined, attentive hospitality.

What You'll Do:

Elevate the Guest Experience

- Warmly greet guests immediately upon arrival, establishing a positive and lasting first impression.
- Thank departing guests and ensure their final impression of Sofia is warm and memorable.
- Proactively identify guest needs, anticipate special requests, and deliver attentive, polished service.
- Answer phone inquiries, manage reservations, and accommodate special guest preferences with care and professionalism.

Front-of-House & Floor Coordination

- Escort guests to their tables and present menus according to Sofia standards.




- Provide accurate wait time estimates during high-volume periods and manage guest flow smoothly.
- Manage seating charts and rotate tables across server stations to maintain balanced workloads for waitstaff.
- Maintain a pristine, organized, and welcoming entrance and host station at all times.

Operational Excellence & Teamwork

- Assist with opening, running, and closing tasks to prepare the venue for flawless service execution.
- Maintain strong, clear communication with floor managers, servers, and kitchen staff.
- Work independently and as part of a team, performing high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Support additional front-of-house tasks and side duties as needed during peak and non-peak service hours.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a polished, highly organized communicator who thrives in high-energy, luxury dining environments.

You bring:

- Experience: Previous experience in a host, reception, or customer service role, preferably within luxury or fast-paced hospitality environments.
- Service Orientation: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle guest interactions sensitively, tactfully, and professionally.
- Organization & Multitasking: Exceptional time-management skills with the ability to balance reservations, walk-ins, and phone calls under pressure.
- Technical Proficiency: Computer literacy, with basic working knowledge of reservation systems, email, MS Word, and Excel.
- Team Mindset: Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
- Physical Capability: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, with the ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends,



and holidays.
- Training: Willingness to complete Sofia's internal training program upon hire.

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
