We at Pacific Waters Counselling are excited to add new counsellors as independent contractors to our team. We are an established, thriving private practice in Surrey, BC. Our counsellors are committed to a high, ethical standard of practice, continuous learning, and ongoing engagement in consultations with colleagues for the benefit of our clients and ourselves. At Pacific Waters Counselling, we focus on providing advanced treatment for trauma using somatic-based therapies. Our clients come from a wide range of backgrounds including all genders, income levels, and many different ethnicities.

We are currently looking for a therapist who uses Lifespan Integration, a gentle therapy that integrates trauma and builds secure attachment. LI teaches the brain that the past is over now, that the client is now a more capable adult, and that there are more adaptive ways to solve life’s current problems. Throughout life, we develop a variety of ways to protect ourselves and many of these can become stuck. LI add flexibility to these protectors so that clients are stuck repeating the same frustrating patterns. Without ever talking about boundaries in session, clients begin to report more awareness of their boundaries and more ease in establishing their boundaries with others. Clients spontaneously say things like, “Oh! I’m an adult!” and “For the first time, I’m beginning to feel okay about being me.” For clients who are uncertain about how to engage in therapy,



LI provides a clear framework that shifts suck points for all clients, from those who are eager to those who are reluctant and concerned.

What You Bring

- Trauma counselling experience
- Fully completed Masters in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology
- Credentialed as RCC
- An emotion-focused or somatic-focused therapeutic lens
- Lifespan Integration Therapy level 1 with intention to complete all 4 levels
- A niche: one focused area of counselling in which you have extended training and excellence

Independent Contractor duties will include

- Conducting brief introductory consults with clients
- Scheduling and conducting 10-15 sessions with clients per week
- Keeping timely notes, invoicing, and billing
- Option to participate in marketing to grow your client load
- Carrying your own business registration and liability insurance
- Remaining in valuable standing with a regulating body such as BCACC
- Maintaining a private, professional-looking location for online sessions
- Demonstrating professional boundaries and ethical compliance with professional codes of conduct
- Evidence of compassion, warmth, authenticity, integrity, and a quality work ethic

Pay: $90.00 per hour
