Automation Designer(s) Intermediate & Senior
As a Mechanical Designer at Osella Technologies you are involved in the design and development of a variety of systems utilized on automated assembly equipment. Including but not limited to Structure, Mechanics, Controlled motions, Robotics, Pneumatic, Hydraulics, Motors, Drives, etc
A Mechanical Designers is responsible for most aspects of the systems that allow the equipment to operate in a safe and efficient manner. Working directly with the controls department, electricians, job builders he or she will ensure the job exceeds our customers’ expectations upon delivery.
- Responsible for Safety first and foremost in every aspect of their job.
- He or she will design in an productive and structured manor in keeping with industry standards and customer guidelines.
- Selection of components to be integrated in the design of the equipment. This will again follow industry standards and customer guidelines while making considerations for cost vs budget.
- From time to time you will be required to travel to customer sites around North America for meetings
Qualifications
The following qualifications are the determined minimum requirements for the position:
- 5 years of direct experience in automation equipment design.
- Experience with Solidworks design software.
- Basic understanding of electrical controls systems and 24v dc devices as it pertains to sensor design.
- Intermediate understanding of Pneumatic systems operation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principals
- Strong PC aptitude & skills are required, in particular with Excel, other MS Office product.
- Ability to travel internationally on short notice.
- Experience with other aspects of machine building as to have a foundation of knowledge that adds to your ability to design.
- Experience and knowledge of Machine Safety design and requirements. (Robot safeties, operator safeties, and device such as area scanners.)
- Comprehension of Ergonomics as it applies to human interface with equipment operation.
- Knowledge of and experience with manufacturing plant processes and standard controls practices.
- Must have excellent analytical and communications skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong emphasis as a team player that thrives in a cooperative team environment and presents themselves in a polished professional manner
