Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team on a maternity leave contract from September 2026 to December 2026 with the possibility of being extended into 2027. This vital role involves creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones, and fostering a love of learning. As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will utilize your expertise to promote positive growth and ensure the well-being of every child in your care. Responsibilities

- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for children.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Collaborate with families to support individual needs, share progress updates, and encourage ongoing communication.
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's development, attendance, and daily activities in compliance with licensing standards.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing tailored assistance in collaboration with specialists when necessary.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed diligently, including hygiene practices and emergency procedures.
- Use strong communication skills to work effectively with team members,



parents, and external professionals to enhance the quality of care.

Qualifications and Experience

- Valid certification as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or equivalent qualification recognized by licensing authorities.
- Ability to obtain a transparent Vulnerable Sector - Police Reference Check (if not obtained within the last 6 months)
- Current/valid Standard First Aid and CPR-Level C
- Up-to-date medical and immunizations
- Must be able to work between the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm
- Understands the ELECT document, "How does learning happen", Play Based Learning and Reggio Emilia philosophies
- Experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or childcare environments.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education best practices, and classroom management techniques.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
