An established and growing dental practice is looking for a strong, dependable Hygiene Coordinator to join its team.
This is an important position within the practice, and we’re looking for someone who brings both experience and initiative to the role. You understand that a successful hygiene program is about more than filling openings—it’s about building relationships with patients, creating consistency, supporting patient retention, and ensuring patients receive the ongoing care they need.
Previous dental reception/administration experience and Dentrix experience are required for this position.
The Role
As our Hygiene Coordinator, you will take ownership of the hygiene schedule and continuing-care program while helping create an organized, welcoming experience for every patient.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing short-notice cancellations and maintaining an effective priority/cancellation list
- Coordinating periodontal maintenance and appropriate hygiene intervals
- Reviewing patient accounts and insurance information
- Verifying dental benefits and assisting patients with insurance questions
- Processing insurance claims, pre-determinations, estimates, and EOBs as required
- Maintaining accurate and complete patient records in Dentrix
- Communicating professionally and warmly with patients by phone, email, and in person
- Working closely with hygienists, dentists, assistants, and the administrative team to ensure seamless patient visits
- Supporting front-desk and administrative responsibilities as needed

- Strong understanding of dental insurance and benefits
- Experience with claims, pre-determinations, estimates, and EOBs
- Confidence communicating with patients regarding appointments, treatment, fees, and insurance
- Strong scheduling, organizational, and administrative skills
Who You Are
You’re someone who takes pride in your work and takes ownership of your responsibilities.
You look ahead, recognize potential gaps, and take action.
You’re comfortable picking up the phone and connecting with patients. You can be persistent without being pushy, and you understand how to build genuine relationships that keep patients engaged in their care.
You are:
- Proactive and naturally look ahead
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Reliable, accountable, and consistent
- Comfortable working toward scheduling and reactivation goals
- Warm and professional with patients
- Confident communicating with patients and team members
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- A strong problem-solver who can adapt when the day changes
- Someone who follows through and doesn’t let important details fall through the cracks
- A team player who is willing to step in and help when needed
More Than Filling a Schedule
The right Hygiene Coordinator understands the difference between simply booking appointments and building a successful continuing-care program.
